This year’s training has been very frustrating to say the least. Conditions have been nearly perfect. We have been very fortunate to have very minimal smoke in our area. However, we have lost more birds training this year than any other. The most frustrating part is that we can’t see anything physically wrong with the birds. The birds that come home late are sectioned off and caught by hand and looked over and every time all but 1 or 2 go right back in with the flock while the 1 or 2 get rest and then also rejoin the flock.
All this being said we still feel very confident with how the birds look and their condition. They did great Friday from 55 miles and now all the birds that came late have had time to rest. We are going to move forward with the activation race tomorrow. It will be 123 miles from Sage Junction, Idaho.
Entry Fees of $300 + Activation Perch Fees of $75 will be due for all birds returning from the activation race. Please get those sent in as soon as you can. We would like to do the first race either Friday or Saturday
