   The first few shipments of birds came in last week, and they looked great. We put the flight pen up as well last week and all the new birds have already been in and out of the aviary and are flying to the ground and back up to the landing board and are getting the hang of things.

   We will take birds until May 20th. Please vaccinate your birds at least 10 days before sending if possible. The birds are vaccinated and chipped upon arrival. Please send birds at a minimum of 35 days old. 40+ days old is ideal.

• If you won a Free Perch Fee last year. It covers the full $125 amount of a perch fee for this year. Sorry, that has been a little confusing where we changed the perch fees this year.

•  There is now a printable entry form on the website to send with the birds it’s on the home page part way down. Also here is the link for it: 3pcEntryForm.pdf (plymouthpeak.com) This is very helpful for us.

This is the last week I will put a lot of the information below in the updates for a while so please take note of the following:

•   We are going to keep the Final Race at 350 miles for this year. We have talked to a few breeders getting opinions and suggestions, and if you would like to weigh in, please feel free to do so. Send a short text or fill out the suggestion part of the entry form with your birds.
•    The other important change to take note of with the race schedule is that we are moving the 200-mile race out to 233 miles. Historically the 200-mile release point has given us the most problems. We are going to go past it and gain some elevation for the birds, and hopefully help them get lined out a little better this year.

•   So here is the race schedule for 2024 Races:

 Activation Race – 110 Miles

Race 1 – 159 Miles

Race 2 – 233 Miles

Race 3 – 250 Miles

Race 4 – 312 Miles

Race 5 – 350 Miles

Beginning Perch Fee Due with the birds:

For every 2 birds send 1 for Free (Optional)

2 for $100 + 1 Free    8 for $280 + 4 Free

4 for $180 + 2 Free    10 for $300 + 5 Free

6 for $240 + 3 Free    12 for $360 + 6 Free

Ending Perch Fee: $75 Due for every bird that clocks on the Activation Race. (This includes the birds that had a free beginning perch fee.)

The point system will mainly be used again this year to award the top birds, and a few of the top average speed birds will get paid as well similar to last year.

At least 75% of the prize money this year will be paid out on the final race.
